Quick Summary: DayMark: Year Events Calendar | Google™ stores your event data locally in your browser. When you use Google Calendar integration, we only access the calendar data you explicitly authorize. We never sell, share, or transmit your personal information to third parties.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Local Data Storage

DayMark: Year Events Calendar | Google™ stores the following information locally in your browser:

  • Custom Events: Event names, descriptions, dates, and color assignments you create
  • Settings & Preferences: Language selection, week start day (Monday/Sunday), week numbers, and display preferences
  • Statistics Data: Calculated statistics based on your events (stored locally)

1.2 Google Calendar Integration (Optional)

If you choose to connect DayMark: Year Events Calendar | Google™ with your Google Calendar, we access:

  • User Profile Information: Your name and email address (to identify your account)
  • Calendar Data: Your calendar list and events from calendars you select
  • Event Management: Ability to create, read, update, and delete events you own

Important: Google Calendar integration is completely optional. The extension works fully without it.

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 Purpose of Data Collection

We use the information collected solely to:

  • Display your year calendar with custom events
  • Calculate and show event statistics
  • Sync with your Google Calendar (if you enable this feature)
  • Save your preferences and settings
  • Provide functionality described in the extension

2.2 No Third-Party Sharing

We do not:

  • Sell your data to any third parties
  • Share your data with advertisers
  • Use your data for marketing purposes
  • Transmit your data to external servers (except Google's servers when you use Google Calendar integration)
  • Track your browsing activity

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local Storage

All your custom events, settings, and preferences are stored locally in your browser using the browser's storage API. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to any external servers.

3.2 Google Calendar Data

When you use Google Calendar integration, the extension communicates directly with Google's servers using OAuth 2.0 authentication. We do not store your Google credentials. Authentication tokens are managed securely by your browser and Google's infrastructure.

3.3 Security Measures

  • OAuth 2.0 authentication for secure Google account access
  • No storage of passwords or sensitive credentials
  • Data encryption provided by your browser's storage mechanisms
  • Limited permissions requesting only necessary access scopes

4. Google API Services

DayMark: Year Events Calendar | Google™'s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4.1 OAuth 2.0 Scopes

When you authorize Google Calendar integration, we request the following scopes:

  • userinfo.profile: To display your name
  • userinfo.email: To identify your Google account
  • calendar.calendars: To access your calendar list
  • calendar.calendarlist: To view and manage your calendar list
  • calendar.events.owned: To create, view, and manage events you own

4.2 Limited Use Disclosure

DayMark: Year Events Calendar | Google™'s use of information received from Google APIs is limited to providing and improving the calendar display and event management features described in this privacy policy.

5. Your Rights and Control

5.1 Data Access and Deletion

You have complete control over your data:

  • Delete Events: Remove any events directly within the extension
  • Clear All Data: Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data
  • Revoke Google Access: Disconnect Google Calendar integration at any time through extension settings or Google Account Permissions

5.2 Revoking Permissions

To revoke Google Calendar access:

  1. Open the DayMark: Year Events Calendar | Google™ extension
  2. Click the settings icon
  3. Find Google Calendar section and click "Disconnect" or "Sign Out"

Or visit Google Account Permissions and remove DayMark: Year Events Calendar | Google™ from authorized apps.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained only as long as the extension is installed. When you uninstall DayMark: Year Events Calendar | Google™, all locally stored data is automatically removed from your browser. Google Calendar data remains in your Google account and is not affected by the extension's installation or removal.

7. Third-Party Services

DayMark: Year Events Calendar | Google™ only communicates with Google's services when you explicitly enable Google Calendar integration.

The DayMark website (https://viachm.github.io/daymark/) uses Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymous usage data such as page views, session duration, and traffic sources. This data helps us understand how visitors interact with the site and improve it over time. Google Analytics uses cookies and may transfer data to Google's servers. No personally identifiable information is collected. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. We do not use any advertising networks or other third-party analytics tools beyond those described above.

8. Children's Privacy

DayMark: Year Events Calendar | Google™ does not knowingly collect information from children under 13 years of age. The extension is designed for general use and does not target children specifically.

9. International Data Transfers

Since all data is stored locally in your browser, there are no international data transfers by DayMark: Year Events Calendar | Google™. When using Google Calendar integration, data transfers are governed by Google's privacy policy and infrastructure.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised. Significant changes will be communicated through the extension's update notes.
